It’s Always Time for Ugly Christmas Sweaters!

Earlier this year, Lorna from Sew Fresh Quilts started a quiltalong called Ugly Christmas Sweaters. I kept meaning to jump in and kept getting distracted by other projects, “because Christmas is months away.” Well, now the holidays are here and I’m finally starting this project! Here’s Lorna’s quilt:

Isn’t it amazing? I’m a huge fan of Christmas sweaters and wear them throughout the holiday season! And I would wear any of these in this quilt!

Have you also had this quilt on your to-do list? Or are you seeing it for the first time and want to start it with me?

Starting Saturday, November 19, I’ll be posting once a week on my progress of this quilt + including a few of my favorite holiday traditions, decorations, and recipes! I hope you can quiltalong with me and share your own holiday traditions!

The best part? Lorna includes free patterns on her website for each block individually, so you can pick and choose your favorites. I’m planning on making the entire quilt, but Lorna offers examples for quilts using all 20 blocks, using 16 blocks, using 4 blocks, and just one for a mini!

I’ll be using Kate Spain’s North Woods collection for Moda Fabrics. I love the classic color palette with a twist!

What fabrics will you be using? I’d love to see pics on Instagram @lindsmayland or on Facebook.

Hope to see you back on Saturday! And thanks for joining me for “happy hour.”

Lindsay

P.S.  The official hashtag for this quiltalong is #uglychristmassweatersqal, so you can see what others have made and share your own pics!
