Ugly Christmas Sweaters: Week 1

Happy holidays!

Each week, I’ll be showing my progress on my Ugly Christmas Sweaters quilt and sharing a holiday tradition! If you want to know more about the quiltalong from Sew Fresh Quilts, visit my blog here.

I have three blocks done so far! They’re so fun to make and each one is a new experience with selecting colors and prints for your sweater! And I love that each one has a different block center. (The star is my favorite so far.)

The first holiday tradition I’ll be sharing is a bit indulgent. Each year, our downtown has a Holiday Promenade. There is a tree lighting, Santa visits, horse-drawn carriage rides, and all the boutiques stay open late for shopping. There are drinks, holiday treats, and sales. The whole town comes out and it’s so fun to stroll down the streets, which are lit up with Christmas displays, and browse through shops. Each shop has special Christmas displays to really get you in the festive spirit!

My husband and I always take this event as an opportunity to treat ourselves! We buy ourselves little treats before the stress of the holiday season sets in.

This year’s haul including some clothing for Christmas parties, hot chocolate and pumpkin pie spice, new earrings, a Spruce-scented candle, and lavender soap and mint lip balm.

Join me next week to see my Ugly Christmas Sweaters progress and I’ll share another holiday tradition!

Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”

Lindsay
