Each week, I’ll be showing my progress on my Ugly Christmas Sweaters quilt and sharing a holiday tradition! If you want to know more about the quiltalong from Sew Fresh Quilts, visit my blog here.
I have nine blocks done so far! I really want to get this quilt done in time for the holidays, so now that December is approaching, I need to step up my sewing game! This quilt would be perfect for snuggling under on Christmas night.
The second holiday tradition I’ll be sharing is putting up our Christmas tree. Each year, on Thanksgiving weekend, my husband and I take a day to listen to Christmas records, sip holiday drinks (I’m loving the Leinenkugel’s Cranberry Ginger Shandy lately), and put up the Christmas tree.
It’s a great time to reflect on all the ornaments, talk about Christmases past, and share old and new traditions with each other. Our tree is an eclectic mix of ornaments — from handmade ornaments we made when we were kids to ones passed down from our parents to holiday collections. All our ornaments bring back beautiful memories. The stuffed ones below are from my mother and I have fond memories of helping her decorate our tree with them. And the snowman ornament belongs to a collection that my family gifts to me every year. I love each one!
Join me next week to see my Ugly Christmas Sweaters progress and I’ll share another holiday tradition!
Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”
P.S. What’s your favorite ornament? I’d love to know more about your Christmas trees in the comments below!
