I’m so excited, guys! Yesterday, the February 2017 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting hit newsstands. And inside is a six-page story on sewing room storage that I had the pleasure of compiling!

I interviewed some of our favorite designers to truly find out their storage secrets — and spoiler: they’re SO relateable! They struggle with some of he same storage issues that you do and are still (after years and years) working on the best storage solutions for their spaces.

If you’re a quilter, you’re probably in a constant state of trying to figure out how to store your supplies and WIPs. And the thing I learned from sifting through the designers’ answers is that there is no perfect storage solution — it’s a personal process. And it must work for your own space and your own quilting style. (The article shares some of these revelations!)

I hope you all pick up this issue! I’m so excited to share these real-life organization secrets with you! (And of course, there’s amazing projects in this issue!) And we’d love for you to share your own storage solutions and sewing rooms with us on IG using the hashtag #HonestSewingRoom!

Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”

P.S. What’s your biggest storage struggle?  I’d love to know!

  1. My biggest struggle involves keeping my stash small enough so that I can keep sight of it all. I love to see what I have. Then it is easy to start playing with the hues, patterns, and textures to create a flow I never thought possible. This also makes it possible to keep using up the oldest fabrics.
