2017 UFO Challenge

I love to make goals each New Year! I like fresh starts, to-do lists, and something fun to work toward. That’s why I’m so excited to start my third year of the AllPeopleQuilt.com UFO Challenge!

As quilters, we all have lots of Unfinished Objects (UFOs). Whether you like to start projects (but not finish), fell out of love with a project, or just don’t have enough sewing time, UFOs can cause stress, can take up space, and the pile can get overwhelming.

American Patchwork & Quilting‘s challenge is easy: download their project list, write down 12 unfinished projects you want to work on, and commit to making progress. Each month, they choose a random number that corresponds to one on your list. You work on that project all month, posting pictures online using the hashtag #APQResolution. They also have an exclusive Facebook support group in case you need extra motivation or help.

I’m lucky and don’t have tons of UFOs. Since I’ve only been quilting for five years and don’t have space for tons of unfinished quilts, I generally finish the quilts I start as soon as I can.

My UFO Challenge List:

  1. Christmas Mini
  2. Tone It Down quilt
  3. Tula Pink’s 100 Block Sampler
  4. Superhero quilt
  5. Star Wars quilt
  6. Smorgasblocks quilt
  7. The Splendid Sampler
  8. String Theory quilt
  9. My Grandmother’s antique quilt
  10. Des Moines embroidery
  11. APQ June color option quilt
  12. [empty — will work on another UFO project]

If you have UFOs, I’d love for you to join me in the UFO Challenge. (Grab all the details here.) I’ll be posting monthly updates of my progress on the blog and want your help keeping myself accountable!

Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”

Lindsay
