Go-To Guides for Going On a Quilt Retreat

Next weekend I’m going on a quilt retreat! I’m so excited, but as an overplanner, I want to be as prepared as possible, so I can relax and have fun!

I took to Pinterest to find some great guides for prepping for a quilt retreat. From packing lists to retreat games, I found everything I need. I hope they help you on your next retreat, too!

Sherri from A Quilting Life shares some great lessons from a recent retreat. My favorite tip is to change your machine needle and wind bobbins in advance. (I probably would’ve forgotten to do this.)

Need help packing? American Patchwork & Quilting had a great list on the website that includes everything! I’m definitely using it for crossing things off my packing list.

Get the list here.

Heather from The Sewing Loft had a fun blog about prepping for your quilt retreat (I love how she admits to sewing in her PJs!). My fave tip from her is to pack an extra tote for any goodies you bring home, and to bring a notebook and pen to write down contact info of new friends!

Read her blog here.

Jennifer from Ellison Lane has another great packing list! I love her suggestion for bringing a variety of projects, including a handwork project, so that you don’t get bored and you can be a little more mobile to visit with others!

Love games? Missouri Star Quilt Co. has some fun printables that are perfect for a retreat! They make great ice breakers and good time fillers for breaks between projects.

Get the games here.
Want more ideas? I’m pinning more over on Pinterest! Follow my Quilt Retreat board here.

Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”

P.S. What are your best quilt retreat tips? I want to know!
