Before Christmas, I finished a secret quilt that was set to appear as a color option in the June issue of American Patchwork & Quilting. The June issue is the color issue and is packed full of quilts that play with color AND two color options for each quilt. The issue comes out officially next week!
I made the color option for Wavelength, a gorgeous quilt by Sharon McConnell of Color Girl Quilts. Sharon’s quilt has a scrappy low-volume background with bright pops of teal and orange. I really love the design of this quilt — its modern and so versatile! You can buy this pattern here.
For my version of the quilt, I used the Modern Backgrounds Luster collection by Zen Chic for Moda Fabrics. This collection features black, gray, white, cream, and light blue fabrics with metallic accents and geometric prints. I love that it gives this quilt a scrappy look!
I love that from far away it looks like a black-and-white quilt, but closer up you can see that the light blue and metallics add extra sparkle and interest.
Because I started this quilt before the new year, it made my UFO Resolution list! I had a free month on my list for March, so since I had this quilt top back to me, I decided to do a quick finish on it!
