It’s a splendid day today! The book The Splendid Sampler compiled by Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson is officially out! It’s amazing that so many people pre-ordered this book that they’re on the second printing right now. So, if you haven’t ordered it yet, buy it here.
Above is a picture of the book and the block I contributed! The book contains 100–6″ blocks from over 80 designers. The blocks cover a wide range of techniques from traditional piecing, appliqué, embroidery, and paper and foundation piecing. My block is called Pieces of Friendship and celebrates quilters of all walks of life coming together to bond over sewing.
Even if you don’t like Sampler Quilts, this book is a great resource for putting blocks together to make a quilt. Above you can see a table topper I made using four of my blocks. It makes such a fun secondary Pinwheel design. (See more of my blocks here!)
The best part of celebrating this book finally being out is the awesome giveaway over on Martingale’s blog! Thirteen people have the chance to win amazing prizes from the sponsors. Visit Martingale’s blog TODAY for a chance to win!
Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”
Have you bought the book and participated in The Splendid Sampler? What are your favorite blocks?
