A Little Something Book

I’m so excited to get my hands on A Little Something, a beautiful book by my friend Roseann Meehan Kermes from Rosebud’s Cottage.  This book features 16 cute projects starring wool appliqué and embroidery.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Roseann for more than five years now, and love her unique style, her willingness to teach and spread her love for sewing, and following along on her social media accounts as she shares her life in Minnesota.

Get the book here.

Everything about this book oozes Roseann’s style — the way the projects are shown in pictures, the accessories and knickknacks they’re shown with, and her amazing color choices and stitching skills (my fave is her star stitch).

From sewing accessories to bags to gift ideas, this book from Martingale provides gorgeous patterns for everyone! There are quite a few projects on my must-make list including these scrappy Log Cabin pincushions!

This book has such variety and really allows you to master the technique, then mix and match patterns and motifs to customize your own projects.

Roseann even packaged my copy with the supplies for one of the projects in the book (so amazing of her!). These are the materials for the Flower-Head Pins.

If you’re new to working wth wool, this is a great project to start with! Roseann does such an amazing job of sharing her favorite tools, smart tips for working with wool and thread, and includes a great guide for her favorite stitches. I found the instructions so easy to follow!

If you plan to make a lot of these, Roseann is also a Sizzix designer and has a line of dies that are perfect for cutting these tiny and round shapes (as well as many other dies perfect for working with wool!). See her dies here.

These covered pins would make the perfect gift for your sewing buddies or to display in your pincushion. It’s such a cute idea and I love how Roseann makes both useful items, but also those that make everyday life extra-special and extra-beautiful!

I hope you pick up this book! It really is such a special addition to my bookshelf!

Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”
