A Birthday Project: Weeks 15 and 16

I’m more than 100 hexagons into this project! That’s 100 different fabrics, different days, and a lot of fun! As part of celebrating a year in my life, I’m making a hexagon to describe each day! (You can read more about this project here.)

Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the pink hexagon and move clockwise):

Day 99: Another snow and ice storm moved through. Is winter over yet?

Day 100: Nothing makes a Monday better than fresh flowers!

Day 101: Today is my dad’s birthday! This year, we’re both joining an important decade club (30 and 60), but I’m glad to share this with him!

Day 102: Couldn’t get anything done today. Between emails and meetings, I was just trying to keep my head up!

Day 103: Fish for dinner tonight. We’ve been making a big effort to cut down on meat and increase fish and veggies!

Day 104: A whole night of sewing helped me catch up on some projects and finish a quilt!

Day 105: After year’s of saving specific fabrics to make pillow covers, I finally got them sewed up and in our living room! I love the bright floral fabrics!

Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the rainbow hexagon and move clockwise):

Day 106: Watched the playoffs to cheer the Vikings on! (Didn’t win, but showing purple to support a great season.)

Day 107: Started a scrappy rainbow project! Lots of color planning and had fun choosing fabrics!

Day 108: Had a work event at the quaintest Log Cabin overlooking a forest at the end of a gravel road.

Day 109: Had a four-hour meeting about data analysis and workflows.

Day 110: Had the pleasure of meeting my friend’s new boyfriend, who’s a rancher.

Day 111: Sick day — suffered through work not feeling very well.

Day 112: It was 50 degrees outside and sunny, so we took a girl’s trip to a local town for some shopping and lunch!

I’ll update my hexagon progress every week or two! And I’ll be using the hashtag #lindsayhexies29 on Instagram to share pictures.

Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”
