A Birthday Project: Weeks 27-31

I’m now more than 200 hexagons into this project! Keeping up with a daily hexagon while moving was HARD! Fabrics were packed away, tools were scattered, and my sewing room was torn apart. I ended up taking my hexagons to work, and keeping a lot of notes on what my hexagon theme would be for each day.

As part of celebrating a year in my life, I’m making a hexagon to describe each day! (You can read more about this project here.)

Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the snowman hexagon and move clockwise):

Day 183: So much packing and cleaning — our home smells like lemon cleaning product.

Day 184: Last big snow storm of the year (at least it better be!)

Day 185: Grabbed burgers and fries at a local restaurant.

Day 186: Life is all about balance — worked hard packing, but then relaxed with a face mask and glass of wine afterward.

Day 187: Gorgeous day outside, so I took a walk and saw some sprouts popping up.

Day 188: My hubby’s birthday!

Day 189: Looking at the plus side — feeling overwhelmed, but so thankful for our new house!

Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the cloud hexagon and move clockwise):

Day 190: My last official sewing day in the old home — packed up everything the next day.

Day 191: Breezy and sunny day. Love seeing clouds in a spring sky!

Day 192: New plant in the office! I love a touch of green in a cubicle space.

Day 193: Thunderstorm all night, which was nice to curl up in bed and listen to.

Day 194: SO. MUCH. LAUNDRY. Making sure everything is washed and without cat hair for the move.

Day 195: 7 days until we move!! The countdown is on.

Day 196: Hosted a charity event at a cute cupcake store.

Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the orange hexagon and move clockwise):

Day 197: Gorgeous Sunday weather. Sat outside and reminisced about our time in the old house.

Day 198-200: Feeling so ecstatic to be moving — feeling rainbows this whole week!

Day 201: Final walkthrough at the new house. Lots of frog and rooster yard art that’s funny (but is also going to go ASAP).

Day 202: Got the keys!

Day 203: Moving day — so thankful for all the friends who helped.

Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the cat hexagon and move clockwise):

Day 204: Major unpacking day — lucky we had everything organized, labeled, and sorted by room.

Day 205: Up all night with a nervous and confused kitty. Too many new places to explore!

Day 206: Feeling an incredibly amount of joy and love for this chapter in our lives!

Day 207: First mail arrived! Thankful for all the cards and well wishes from family members.

Day 208: Found a good commute route and enjoy the new path to home.

Day 209: Overwhelmed with the amount of things to do and the changes we want to make to the house — just need to remember one step at a time.

Day 210: Got dirty — planted an entire vegetable garden and raised beds.

Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the cloud hexagon and move clockwise):

Day 211: Started cleaning up the yard and lawn. We bought our first lawnmower!

Day 212: Wonderful day to enjoy a drink outside and stare at the sky!

Day 213: Received an adorable gift of flowers from our neighbor!

Day 214: Started to soundproof the basement for my husband’s recording studio.

Day 215: Girl’s night to show off the new house. So lucky to have wonderful women in my life!

Day 216: Torrential rains brought lots of mud and mosquitoes.

Day 217: Traded my rose bushes for some hostas.

I’ll update my hexagon progress every week or two! And I’ll be using the hashtag #lindsayhexies29 on Instagram to share pictures.

Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”

Lindsay
