We’re a few weeks into Moda Bake Shop‘s summer quilt along! The quilt along features seven designers. Each round of the quilt has two options, so you can really customize it to fit your style. I’m using this project as an excuse to explore my creativity. (See more about how I altered each round here.)
I chose Path B by Jessica Dayon for the second round. Instead of making each block like a Pinwheel, I skipped the pieced triangles and turned the block into a Square-in-a-Square (this is one of my fave blocks — if you want to experiment, I have a free pattern here!) I did piece the corner blocks to create a diagonal color split across the quilt.
I’m making the quilt half the size, so these blocks finish at 3″. I kept my black border to 1.5″-wide just as the instructions said.
Are you participating in this quilt along? I’m excited to continue exploring my creativity with this project! It’s been very freeing!
Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”
