I celebrated my birthday earlier this week, so my yearlong hexagon project that honored the last year of my 20s is over. As part of celebrating a year in my life, I made a hexagon to describe each day! (You can read more about this project here.)
Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the wood grain hexagon and move clockwise):
Day 337: First Packer game of the season — got my green and gold!
Day 338: Took a fun tour of our wood shop at work!
Day 339: Hubby has the stomach flu.
Day 340: A sad and shocking day at work as a large round of layoffs took place.
Day 341: After such a shake-up at work, I’m trying hard to feel anchored in my job and life.
Day 342: Had our one-night charity Sew-In for the One Million Pillowcase Challenge.
Day 343: Received my DNA results from Ancestry.com. I was surprised to find that a small percentage of me was from the Baltic States.
Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the blue star hexagon and move clockwise):
Day 344: Packers versus Vikings game is a big one in our house.
Day 345: Traveled to Kansas City to see Beck’s “Colors” tour.
Day 346: Total date day exploring KC with my husband!
Day 347: Hosted an elephant-theme baby shower for the sweetest co-worker!
Day 348: Our cat Harvey squishes himself into the tiniest box.
Day 349: Got the most beautiful flowers to display in my mason jar vase.
Day 350: It’s finally fall weather and the leaves are starting to fall!
Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the peppermint hexagon and move clockwise):
Day 351: A sudden huge storm caught us off guard with our windows open, and knocked a lamp over.
Day 352: Addicted to the peppermint candy bowl at home.
Day 353: Long conversation about llamas and alpacas with a friend at work!
Day 354: Ate at the Lebanese Open Sesame restaurant with co-workers.
Day 355: Had a work dinner with a new quilt designer to meet and greet!
Day 356: Walking into Friday like a superstar!
Day 357: Had a long day at the DOT renewing my license.
Here’s a little description of what each hexagon means (start in the middle, move to the teal hexagon and move clockwise):
Day 358: A total lazy Sunday with kitty snuggles.
Day 359: Trying to infuse my Monday with some fun and games.
Day 360: Sending my brother some long-distance love for his birthday!
Day 361: A last sunny and nice day this year.
Day 362: Feeling refreshed in my life and ready for the next decade of my life!
Day 363: Team spirit day at work, so I’m routing for my Drake bulldogs.
Day 364: My last day of 29, and I’m feeling in the exact spot I’m supposed to be at, and am thankful where this journey has led me!
Above is a sneak peek of the quilt! I’ll be doing a more in-depth post about this quilt and how I assembled it soon! And I’ll be using the hashtag #lindsayhexies29 on Instagram to share pictures.
Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”
