Are you sewing along with the 2019 Sew Hometown calendar (from Amy Ellis and Heather Valentine, the fun gals behind Inspiring Stitches)? It’s been such a joy to work on these blocks the last three months. Buy the calendar here.
March’s block is a Crosswalk Block. Churn Dash blocks are one of my favorite blocks, so I couldn’t wait to make these. I love the ability to showcase fun fabrics that pop against the background. I threw a yellow one in, too — it looks so low-volume right now, but I think that when the sampler quilt is put together, the subtleties will add a nice touch and place to rest your eyes.
Side note: If you don’t own the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers yet, I highly recommend them! You can see my review for them here. They make trimming triangle-squares SO easy!
It’s not too late to grab your calendar and catch up! I can’t wait to see everyone’s blocks throughout the year.
Thanks for joining me for “happy hour,”
